What does a Science Communicator do?

The ability to explain science and scientific research to people who do not have a scientific background is referred to as science communication. A physicist should not serve the audience a slew of curled-up equations. Instead, she or he should explain in human language what, for example, gravity is about, how we came to know about it, which parts we do not (yet) understand, and why. It should leave the audience with a sense of inclusion rather than exclusion from the scientific community, as if you understand what was just explained to you.

A science communicator is someone who helps to bridge the gap between science and the public. This includes explaining fundamental topics that have been known for decades or centuries, as well as explaining new scientific discoveries. There are two types: active scientists who do science communication in addition to their research and active communicators who are not active researchers but have a background in science and now spend their time explaining science to the public. Both groups are crucial in science communication.

Science communication improves the world, and the more of us there are, the greater the impact.
